About the Campground
Located 8 miles west of Big Rapids, Michigan. There are 8 individual sites within the group camp area. Each site can handle 8 people, the group camp area has a maximum number of 64 people. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and three picket poles to tether horses. All sites are shaded. Facilities provided include a vault toilet, group fire ring, and manure disposal area. Drinking water is available at Hungerford Campground approximately 1 mile south of the group site.
No firewood from home. Firewood is available in the surrounding woods. This is to protect the Huron-Manistee National Forest, National Parks, and State Forests from the Emeral Ash Borer, an exotic beetle from Asia.
In the Hungerford Recreation Area there are hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding trails, and a boat launch on Hungerford Lake. Popular activities include horseback riding, hiking, fishing, hunting, and boating.

Alerts and Important Information
There are 8 individual sites within the group camp area. Each site can hold 1 horse trailer and 2 vehicles, for a maximum of 8 people. Total number of people for the group camp area is 64. Reservations are for the entire Group Camp Area (all 8 sites). Reservations must be made at least 1 days in advance.
There is a 2 day minimum stay anyday (Sunday through Saturday) and a 3 day Holiday weekend stay (Friday, Saturday & Sunday)
Check in time is 12:00 noon and check out time is 12:00 noon.
Campfires must be confined to fire rings only. At no time shall a fire be left unattended. All fires must be completely extinguished prior to leaving.
No RV hook-ups are available.
There are no site hook-ups at this campground.
ATV's are not allowed to be ridden in this campground.
Firewood is allowed to be collected if dead and down, for campfires.
Pets must be kept under control at all times.
The permit holder shall observe quiet hours between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am.
At no time will horses be tied directly to trees. Picket lines can be established between the three posts at each site. Horses must be kept a minimum of 6 feet from any tree.
No firearms or fireworks allowed in the campground.
