About the Campground
Opening on May 28, 2010.
This rental is open year round. We will be opening on May 28, 2010. The Ochoco Ranger Rental is located approximately 25 miles northeast of Prineville, Oregon. Nestled under big ponderosa pine trees the Ranger Rental sits in the upper Ochoco Valley and the forest boundary at the historic Ochoco Ranger Station. The scenic location offers easy access to Walton Lake, Big Summit Prairie and the beautiful Ochoco National Forest.
Reservations are taken six months in advance. We encourage you to check regularly due to unexpected cancellations. This cabin was constructed in 1940 specifically for the District Ranger by the Civilian Conservation Corps and the US Forest Service. Today the rental sits at the Ochoco Ranger Station and is a working compound primarily used for fire suppression and fuels management activities.
The 2 story house has 3 bedrooms, 1 1/2 bath and 1145 square feet of living space. The house is furnished with 2 queen beds, 3 twin beds and a cot and sleeps up to 8 guests. No television or phone is provided and no cell phone coverage is available. The fireplace is not in use.
This rental is all electric. The kitchen is supplied with pots/pans, utensils and dishes. You will need to bring food, trash bags, personal gear and sleeping bags. All cleaning supplies are furnished. All garbage must be packed out.
NO pets or livestock are permitted.
Check out time is 12:00 noon. Check in time is 2:00 pm.
When you leave you are responsible for cleaning the rental:
Clean bathrooms (toilets, showers/bath and sinks)
Sweep, mop or vacuum floors
Clean kitchen counter, stove and leave frige clean and empty
Lock the doors behind you
Pack out all garbage
No fireworks allowed and discharging of firearms is prohibited.
This is a non-smoking facility.

Reservations can be made 6 months in advance.
No RV's or camp trailers are allowed at this site.
NO PETS OR LIVESTOCK ARE ALLOWED AT THIS SITE.
NON-SMOKING FACILITY and NO DISCHARGING OF FIREARMS.
All garbage must be packed out.
The nearest town is Prineville about 25 miles away.
The combination to the rental will be in your confirmation letter. There will be a combination lock on the back door of the rental.
