About the Campground

Pickensville campground will be closed as of November 1, 2009 due to upgrades to the electrical systems to 50 AMP service and will be reopened to our customers starting March 1, 2010 for sites # 1 - 70. Pickensville Campground is located on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Pickensville Campground offers 176 sites with electric and water hookups and several sites that have sewer. Many people enjoy watching the barges go by, hunting, fishing, and water sports along the waterway from Pickensville Campground. The nearby Tom Bevill Visitor Center details the history of the Tenn-Tom Waterway, what kinds of wildlife can be found on the waterway, and also the U.S. Snagboat Montgomery, circa, 1926, is displayed next to the Visitor Center. Alerts and Important Information Campground open all year. Fees range from $16-$20 per night. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance with a 2 night minimum on weekends and 3 night minimum on holidays. Reservations are taken 1 March thru 31 October and our Walk-In Season (No Reservations Needed) is 1 November through February 28. Campground gates open from 6AM-10PM. Visitor hours are 6AM-9PM. A fee of $3/day fee for extra vehicle (3rd/4th) . Pets are not allowed in the restrooms and must be kept on a leash under 6 feet in length. Extinguish fires and deposit all garbage in trash compactor near the dump station when leaving. We do not provide key or combinations for entrance into the campground after 10 PM, however, we do provide an emergency exit.
