About the Campground

Pickensville campground will be closed as of November 1, 2009 due to upgrades to the electrical systems to 50 AMP service and will be reopened to our customers starting March 1, 2010 for sites # 1 - 70. Pickensville Campground is located on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Pickensville Campground offers 176 sites with electric and water hookups and several sites that have sewer. Many people enjoy watching the barges go by, hunting, fishing, and water sports along the waterway from Pickensville Campground. The nearby Tom Bevill Visitor Center details the history of the Tenn-Tom Waterway, what kinds of wildlife can be found on the waterway, and also the U.S. Snagboat Montgomery, circa, 1926, is displayed next to the Visitor Center.
