About the Campground
Located in the northern tier of Pennsylvania less than one mile from the New York State border, the Tompkins Campground is on the north shore of the Cowanesque Lake, midway between Lawrenceville and Nelson, PA.
Cowanesque Lake is a flood risk management and water storage reservoir 1,085 acres in size. The Cowanesque Lake Project is 2733 acres in the beautiful Cowanesque River Valley.
The setting is attractive for camping (123 sites), picnicking, swimming, boating, fishing, water-skiing, hunting and hiking. Hot showers, playgrounds, public pay phones, rental mooring slips, and a dump station are located at the campground.

Alerts and Important Information
There is currently a detour in place that changes the way campers arriving from the north or south on Routes 15 and 287 access the campground. Please call the park at 570-827-2109 for directions.
Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance for family sites.
Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance for group sites.
This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on weekends.
This campground requires a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends.
Visitor hours are 8am - 10pm and visitors pay $3/vehicle to enter.
Attendants hours vary by season.
Campers are limited to two camping units per site, one of which must be a tent.
Campers will be charged a $5 fee for voluntary site transfers if requested after check in.
Limited parking available. An additional fee of $3/night will be collected on site for extra vehicles.
This campground has first come, first served sites.
