About the Campground

Click here for more cabin information and maps. 12'x14' Pan Abode cabin that accommodates 4 people. Cabin is equipped with two double/1 single plywood bunks, table, benches, wood stove, and outhouse. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. Trail to cabin crosses a slough and users should plan to cross at low tide. For boat or air charters, contact the Sitka Convention and Visitors Bureau at 907-747-5940 or www.Sitka.org. There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. The person holding the reservation must be 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal. Access by boat only. Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

Alerts and Important Information You may reserve this cabin on the day of arrival, or up to 180 days in advance. There is no good water source near the cabin, there is rain water barrel collection; boil or treat water before drinking. All garbage and food must be packed out. Occasionally poor weather can cause delayed arrivals or extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. Camping within 200 feet of this cabin by anyone other than the cabin users is prohibited. Natural hot springs bathhouse 50 feet from cabin is not for exclusive use of cabin renters. It is free and open to any Forest visitor and is often used by fishermen, kayakers, and campers. Area around cabin can be noisy and disruptive to cabin users. Bring extra water due to dehydrating effects of hot springs. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed.
