Ewing Point campsite is located on the beautiful 132-acre McKeever Lake south of Munising. This is a dispersed campsite that provides a rustic forest environment in a secluded setting. There is one walk-in campsite on Ewing Point. It is about 650 feet from the parking area on a primitive foot trail. The site, located right on a scenic point, is a grassy area 50 feet by 75 feet, surrounded by cedar and hemlock.
Swimming The lake bottom is sandy and provides good wading. Be cautious when swimming because this area has not been checked for possible hazards. Please remember you swim at your own risk.
Hiking Bruno's Run Hiking Trail weaves throughout the Ewing Point area. The 9 mile trail is accessible at various locations, two of which are near the Ewing Point parking area. One trail section leads down to Grassy Lake; the other travels along the southeastern portion of McKeever Lake.
Fishing McKeever Lake is a good fishing lake for musky, pike, bass, and pan Fish.
Boat Access There is a boat access on McKeever lake at the parking area. Boats need to be carried by hand into the campsite itself or you can reach the campsite easily from the water. (Water is very shallow, large boats not recommended).

This facility does not have first-come, first-serve or walk-in sites available. You can only camp at this facility if you have a reservation and reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
You must keep a copy of your confirmation letter and have it on you while you are camping as proof of reservation.
The trail to the campsite is very primitive and involves walking across a primitive, rustic, narrow, 20 ft. bridge.
There is no drinking water available at the site. The primitive pit toilet is a wilderness latrine.
Your campsite must be occupied the first night and may not be left unattended over 24 hours thereafter.
Camping equipment must be located no closer than 50 feet from the lake. Please leave a clean camp. Please bring garbage bags. This campsite is "Pack it in, Pack it out".
Be careful with fire. Fire is allowed ONLY in the fire ring provided. Make sure that your campfire is cold to the touch before you leave your campsite. Only dead and downed wood may be cut for firewood. No firewood from home.
Visitors to your campsite must leave by 10 PM.
ATV or OHV riding is not permitted within the campground or on the surrounding roads. You must trailer your OHV to trails or roads that are open for use. For more information on OHV riding, please contact the visitor center at 906-387-3700.
This Campsite is closed from December 1 to April 30 and not accessible during the snow season. Campers wanting to camp in May or November should check with the local office to find out weather conditions.
