About the Campground
Indian Creek Campground is located in a high mountain valley surrounded by beautiful peaks at an elevation of 8,000 feet. The area is covered with aspens, sagebrush, and a few pines.
This campground has potable water and vault toilets, but no electricity or garbage service. This is a "pack it in, pack it out" site. All trash must be removed upon departure. Seven group sites are available, and all have picnic tables, fire rings, serving tables, and large parking areas. Roads and spurs within the site are dirt. Campground is reached via the well-maintained dirt/gravel Cottonwood Creek Road, providing good access for cars and RVs. When group sites are not reserved they are available on a first come, first served basis for $3 per vehicle.
Potter Ponds are nearby and offer great canoeing and rainbow trout fishing, with scenic views from the shore. The expansive Arapeen ATV Trail System can be accessed close by, and has 350+ miles of designated, well-maintained trails for ATVs and OHVs and is suitable for all riding levels. Horseback riding, hiking and mountain biking are popular in the area as well.
