About the Campground
Plowman Creek Campground on the west side of Lake Whitney is located in Central Texas on the main stem of the Brazos River. Over two million people visit Whitney Lake each year to enjoy camping, fishing, boating, water skiing, hunting, sight-seeing, and much more. The campground offers a total of 44 campsites with water and/or electric hookups. An equestrian area provides a trail head including optional overnight camping for riders at the park. Additional amenities include two restrooms with warm water showers, a boat ramp and dump station.

Alerts and Important Information
The restroom/showerhouse near the back or north loop is closed for repairs. A restroom/showerhouse near the park entrance is open.
A maximum of 3 vehicles will be allowed entrance into the park for each rented site. All additional vehicles associated with that campsite will not be allowed access inside the park and will be parked outside the main gate at the owner's expense.
Campers who do not arrive by 3 pm the day following their reservation date will have that reservation cancelled with the first nights camping fee plus a $20.00 cancelation fee charged.That site will then be available to others.
Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends.
This campground requires a 3 day minimum holiday weekend stay.
Camping permitted only at designated sites.
The campground is open year round and sites are $10-$16/night.
Attendants are on duty.
The gates open at 6 am and close at 10pm. There is a night exit that allows a person to exit the park after hours.
Horse riders must stay in designated area.
