About the Campground

Located less than a mile south of Florence, South Jetty ODNRA can best be described as an OHV enthusiast's dream. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area is the largest expanse of coastal sand dunes in North America. Sand camp sites at South Jetty ODNRA are located directly on the sand. Large sand dunes and the ocean beach adjacent are open to OHV riding. South Jetty ODNRA offers 13 Standard (5 vehicles/20 people) sand camp sites and 1 Group (10 vehicles/40 people) sand camp site. Access to these sites is only available by 4x4 vehicles via soft sand routes. Sites are identified by numbered posts; camp within 150ft. of post. Stop at corridor fee station to complete required Sand Camping Permit before heading out on the sand. Display permit tab on each vehicle dash. The area has a 10 p.m. curfew. Sand camping is available here year-round. October 1 to April 30 Standard sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis. May 1 to September 30 Standard sites are available by reservation. Group sites are only available by reservation year-round. Reservations are necessary for holiday weekends, and are highly recommended in the summer to secure your favorite campsite.
