About the Campground

Adams Ranger Station Cabin is located in the heart of the Nez Perce National Forest at an elevation of 5,150 feet. The historic cabin is available for rent year-round; except during spring melt, which typically occurs from 3/16 - 5/20. The cabin can accommodate up to 8 people. Winter access is approximately 30 miles from Fish Creek Snowpark along a groomed snowmobile route. Camp trailers, RVs, and tents are not permitted at Adams Cabin. Adams Ranger's Cabin was built in 1932 for the District Ranger and his family. The summer of 1958 was the last year that the Adams Ranger Station served as a District Headquarters. Since that time it has served as a work center, hosting a variety of summer crews that were responsible for fire protection, timber and boundary surveys, grazing permits, and evaluation of the area's numerous homestead and mining claims. Several attractions close to Adams include Corral Creek Stock trailhead, the Gospel Hump Wilderness, and the historic Florence Cemetary and mining town, as well as many motorized and non-motorized trails.
