About the Campground

The Forest Service Forest Glen Guard Station is located adjacent to the Southfork Trinity River at Forest Glen California. The Southfork Trinity River is designated as a Wild and Scenic River. The station is historic and eligible for inclusion to the National Register of Historic Places. It was constructed in 1916. The cabin has a flush toilet and electricity. No running water is located inside the station. The kitchen area has a table and chairs. It does not have a stove or refrigerator. You must provide all of your domestic and drinking water. You will need to supply your own dished, utensils and cookware. Outside there is a fire pit and picnic table. The cabin does not have any heat. The maximum capacity for the cabin is eight. There are two twin beds and one double futon. You must provided additional sleeping pads. No linens or bedding is provided. This station is located approximately 22 miles west of Hayfork California. Many hiking opportunities are located in this area. No fishing is allowed along the Southfork Trinity River. All smoking must be done outside of the building. During extreme fire conditions smoking must be done within enclosed vehicles. Staying in a rental is just like camping, except you have a floor under your feet, and a roof over your head. Bring whatever it takes to make yourself comfortable.

Alerts and Important Information Reservation dates subject to weather conditions. Forest Glen station can be reserved 180 days in advance. There is room enough for eight people. Two twin beds and one double futon is provided. You must bring additional sleeping pads, linens and bedding. Paved roads lead to the station. Fireworks are always prohibited on all national forest lands. Off-highway vehicles are also only allowed on designated road and trails. Please call the District Office at 530 628 5227 to confirm you combination 4 days prior to your arrival. Bring your own drinking water. Staying in a rental is just like camping, except you have a floor under your feet, and a roof over your head. Bring whatever it takes to make yourself comfortable. The rental now has a new cook stove, and refrigerator. PLEASE KEEP THEM CLEAN.
