About the Campground

The Kelly Forks Cabin is located within the Kelly Forks compound, an active Forest Service Work Center. It is situated on the beautiful North Fork of the Clearwater River. The cabin is also a stone's throw from Kelly Creek, known world-wide as a "blue ribbon" fishery for westslope cutthroat trout. Kelly Creek and all of its tributaries are protected by special regulations that mandate catch and release fishing, only. These rules are designed to preserve valued fly fishing streams. The cost of the cabin is $55 per night. The fee is based on amenities being offered at this cabin site, which include electricity, hot running water and indoor toilet facilities. Maximum capacity of the cabin is 6 people. Tents or other camping equipment (such as trailers being used to sleep visitors) are prohibited within the vicinity of the cabin facility. Due to space constraints, there is assigned parking for a maximum of 4 vehicles at the facility (a truck with an ATV trailer is considered 2 vehicles). Park only in designated, hardened parking spots to protect area resources. Outdoor fires are prohibited. The Kelly Forks cabin is secured by way of a combination lock. The code to open the lock will be provided to you by the Reserve America agent upon receipt of payment. The Clearwater National Forest Supervisor's Office is your one-stop-shop for national forest, wilderness area and full color USGS topographical maps. If you are interested in purchasing a Clearwater National Forest map, which shows the routes leading to the Kelly Forks Cabin as well as adjacent roads and trails, please remit a check or money order, in the amount of $10.00, made payable to USFS, to: Clearwater National Forest Map Request, 12730 Highway 12, Orofino, ID 83544. For your convenience, we are also able to process over-the-phone credit card purchases; all major credit cards are gladly accepted.
