About the Campground

Renegade Campground is located adjacent to Strawberry Reservoir at an elevation is 7,700 feet, and is set in rolling sage brush-covered hills. A nice stand of aspens is nearby, but offers no shade to any of the campsites. Renegade Day Use area is across the road, less than 1/4 mile from campground, and has plentiful beach/shoreline access, a boat ramp, marina, small general store, fishing supplies, and basic RV repair. Popular activities in the immediate area include boating, canoeing, water skiing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, and fishing for Rainbow trout, Cutthroat trout, and Kokanee salmon. The Strawberry Narrows Trail is great for hiking and biking, with beautiful views of the reservoir, and begins at the Renegade marina. Nearby, 75 miles of trails run through the Strawberry OHV Trail System, and numerous, extensive mountain biking trails are in the area. Strawberry Visitor Center has interpretive displays, a working fish trap and egg collection station, and a nature trail. The campground has running water and flush toilets, and excellent views of the reservoir, but no shade, electricity, or telephones.

Alerts and Important Information Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance. This campground requires a 2-night minimum stay on weekends, and a 3-night minimum stay on holiday weekends. No ATVs or OHVs allowed in campground. Trails are available outside campground. Pets must be leased at all times. Quiet hours are 10pm to 6am. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Check out time is 1pm. First vehicle included in the fee, all additional motor homes and vehicles will be charged a fee on site. This park has first come, first served sites. You must stay on the site you reserve; no site swapping is allowed.
