About the Campground

Proximity: Lowman, Stanley, Grandjean, Bonneville Hot Springs Environment: Narrow mountain valley along the South Fork of the Payette River. Mountains are heavily forested and steep. Winter highs are usually in the 20s and 30s, with low averaging -10 to +10 degrees. Attributes: Hot springs within 1 mile from cabin. Beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. Adjacent to South Fork of the Payette River. Single cabin in remote area; one double bed and 4 single cots with mattresses and provided, bring your own bedding. There is a wood heat stove. Firewood is provided in the barn, it may need to be split. Vault toilet outside. Some pots and pans provided. Snow can be melted for drinking water. Bring a lantern for light. Bring a propane cook stove for cooking. Activities: Winter cross-country skiing, snowshoeing. Restrictions: Tent, RV or trailer camping not permitted on site. Garbage policy is strictly "pack-in/pack out". No water or electricity. Access to the cabin is by snowshoe or X-C skiing only (no motorized vehicles). Campfires outside of cabin are not permitted. No livestock (such as horses or mules) permitted. Use is limited to a maximum of 6 persons. Pets must be under restrictive control at all times. Customer is responsible for cleaning up after pets.

Alerts and Important Information Warm Springs Guard Station is open for reservations from Mid-November through Mid-April only. Same day reservations are allowed. Livestock are not allowed. This permit is for personal, private recreation use. Assembly and/or special events are discouraged. Golden Age/Access passport is not accepted for this cabin. Door to the cabin has a combination lock; combination will be given to the customer in the confirmation letter. Use of candles is discouraged because of fire danger. Cabin is still accessible from Boise if Highway 21 is closed between Grandjean and stanley.
